Attention all Illinois real estate brokers, physicians, dentists, and other professionals licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation (IDFPR): new continuing education obligations are now in effect as of January 1, 2019.
On August 10, 2018, Governor Rauner signed House Bill 4953 requiring sexual harassment prevention training for all IDFPR-licensed professionals who have continuing education requirements starting in January 2020. Anyone applying for or renewing their professional licenses on or after January 1, 2020 in Illinois with the IDFPR will be required to take a one hour sexual harassment prevention training course as a part of their continuing education hours, with training sessions commencing in January 2020. The IDFPR has not yet published the rules regarding the sexual harassment prevention training, but keep an eye out for further updates.
